WILBERT Moves to Waldlaubersheim
WILBERT moves to new tower crane manufacturing facility
After a construction period of nearly 1.5 years WILBERT moves to new premises in Waldlaubersheim, Germany at the end of April. The new factory is conveniently situated very close to the motorway A 61 and just 4 km away from its former headquarters in Warmsroth.
The new 166,000 sq. m plant includes an area of 20,000 sq. m with buildings for steel construction, mechanical engineering, control engineering as well as for the final assembly of the WILBERT tower
crane series production. The factory floors are equipped with nine Demag double-girder overhead travelling cranes with a WILBERT crane controller, each with a maximum capacity of 20 tons.
The size of the outside warehouse is 37,000 sq. m. Therefore, enough space is disposable for further extension of the warehouse area or production halls. The outside warehouse is provided with a self-designed gantry crane with clear span of 90 m and up to 20 tons load capacity.
The full-automatic blasting plant and powder coating plant are built on an area of 3,100 sq. m. They are ready to be put into service in August this year. The plant is intended for components with dimensions of up to 14 × 3.5 × 3.5 m and a maximum weight of 20 tons. “Tower cranes with a powder coated finish have a considerably higher quality compared to conventionally coated ones” says manager Franz-Rudolf Wilbert.
WILBERT also starts with its own steel construction. This becomes necessary due to the continuously increasing demand for WILBERT tower cranes. There were no possibilities left to expand the capacity of the steel construction suppliers as most of the capacity was already reserved for WILBERT Turmkrane GmbH. Therefore, the own steel construction serves as an opportunity to build more tower cranes.
