WT 650 e.tronic in Industrial park Höchst–impressive freestanding hook height
A Wilbert WT 650 e.tronic crane was in use over a period of 18 months during the construction of the new gas turbine system for Infraserv GmbH & Co. Höchst KG. The detailed application concept was developed and implemented together with the general contractor Standardkessel Baumgarte GmbH.
The modular design and combination of reinforced tower elements E33V (system dimensions 5.00 x 3.33 x 3.25 meters) and subsequently T100 (system dimensions 6.45 x 2.12 x 2.12 meters) have the enormous free-standing hook height of 107.60 meters.
Due to the space available at the site, both the assembly and disassembly of the WT 650 e.tronic was carried out using a 500-ton special mobile crane with a main boom (57.7 to 68.2 meters) and luffing jib (63.0 to 84.0 meters).
With a radius of 50 meters, the WT 650 e.tronic was able to effortlessly cover the entire working area. The maximum lifting capacity is 32 tons and at the tip of the boom 13.6 tons.
First, the stair towers were erected using the 24-hour slipforming method. This seamless concreting was completed in nine working days thanks to the high working speeds of the crane.
The crane also erected the entire steel structure of the boiler house and lifted in pipes, ducts and other components. Facade elements and trapezoidal sheets were also delivered by the crane and two chimneys including bypass chimneys were erected using man baskets.
