Zoomlion buys WILBERT
The construction machinery manufacturer Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd. takes over WILBERT TowerCranes GmbH
On the occasion of the construction industry trade fair “bauma CHINA” in Shanghai, it was announced that WILBERT TowerCranes GmbH, based in Waldlaubersheim, Germany, is going to be sold to Zoomlion Heavy Industry Science & Technology Co., Ltd.
Zoomlion is one of the largest manufacturers of construction machinery in China. Now Zoomlion is looking for access to the European market through the acquisition of WILBERT TowerCranes GmbH. Recently, the fate of WILBERT TowerCranes GmbH was in the hands of a Chinese financial investor. Through the takeover by Zoomlion, WILBERT now has a strong strategic partner on its side.
According to the vision of the new shareholder, WILBERT is going to stay a German crane manufacturer that, as before, also services the market segment of premium-quality tower cranes as a rental company. The expectation is that the takeover by Zoomlion is going to advance the targeted expansion of the capital-intensive core business in Germany and internationally.
