With a gross floor area of 40.000 m² and a height of 172 m, Grand Tower in Frankfurt is the highest residential tower in Germany. Just a few of the over 400 penthouses and apartments with 41 to 300 m² and concierge service are still for sale. The architecture of Magnus Kaminiarz & Cie with curved balconies or loggias and full panorama windows is airy and modern. Already, the building has reached its full height and it is scheduled to be completed within 2019. At the moment, the focus of the work is on the facade and on the balconies/loggias.

The Grand Tower
The task
Two WT 420 e.tronic were responsible for the construction of Grand Tower. One of them was already dismantled in December 2018. The other WT 420 e.tronic now has to mount a specialised crane on the roof of the building that is going to be used for the facade and the construction of the balconies/loggias.
The implementation
In order to assemble the specialised crane on the roof at 176 m, the WT 420 e.tronic had to be climbed to 197 m first. The 4×4 m cross frame for the crane was placed on a custom-designed substructure. Likewise, the hoisting winch was special-built and the hoisting load adjustment was tailor-made for this application. The planned tasks required a load torque of 150 mt and 35 m radius.
The activities of the specialised crane can be watched via the Grand Tower building site web cam.

The finale
When the work of the specialised crane was done in February 2020, its last task was to bring up a WT 35L montage crane that then dismantled the WT 150 e.tronic. As this was planned beforehand, it was prepared at the factory in such a way, that it could be disassembled in especially small pieces.

A new era is dawning for the police in Osthessen. Five WT 650 e.tronic are needed to span the major construction site of the new headquarters that will house 11 departments and 900 officers.
Expansion of Utrecht University
On the grounds of Utrecht University, two WT 335L e.tronic and a WT 555L e.tronic are working on an 18 storey building specially designed to be low vibration.
JaBee Tower, Dübendorf (CH)
The highest residential tower in Switzerland is being built in Dübendorf near Zurich. Five commercial premises on the ground floor and 218 rental apartments are distributed over a tower height of 100 m. Due to the proximity to the airport, the crane was dismantled at night after the suspension of flight operations.
Deconstruction of Deutsche Bank IBCF, Frankfurt
On the former Deutsche Bank site, the old buildings had to make room for a building complex of four high-rise towers, the Quartier Four, that is planned to be completed in 2023.
Pont du Lanciau, Rossinière
Reconstruction of the Pont du Lanciau: demanding work due to the cramped, hilly terrain and a tandem lift with a mobile crane.

There's a webcam where you can live view the construction of Germany's tallest residential tower and our two WT 420 e.tronic on site.
Marienturm, Frankfurt
The construction progress of the Marienturm, a new office tower in Frankfurt's banking district, can be viewed live via webcam. Two WT 335L e.tronic cranes from our rental fleet are involved in this project.
Solar Tower Ouarzazate, Morocco
The steel components of the absorber have a maximum weight of 90 t and were lifted to the top of the 240 m solar tower by our WT 2405L e.tronic.
Ruhr West University of Applied Sciences, Mülheim
HWR’s new campus was built on an area of approx. 40,000 m² between September 2012 and December 2015. Four WILBERT trolley cranes were used: 3× WT 200 e.tronic and 1× WT 320 e.tronic.
REA Turow, Bogatynia (PL)
Here, the task of the WT 2405L e.tronic was the chimney modernisation in a densely built-up area: The existing filters had to be replaced by new, better performing filters at dizzying heights. The crane was assembled at a low height and then erected by crawling for this purpose.
Housing Development Feuerbachstraße, Frankfurt
A residential complex comprising 126 luxury apartments and an underground garage with 220 parking spaces was built in Feuerbachstraße in Frankfurt. Construction was completed in 2015. Four WILBERT cranes were used: 2× WT 150 e.tronics and 2× WT 200 e.tronics.
OpernTurm, Frankfurt
The 170m skyscraper was completed in spring 2016 and comprises an impressive 62,500 m² of usable space on 42 storeys. During the construction phase, two WT 300 e.tronics and one WT 205L e.tronic were used.
Grain Storage Silos, Brake
38 honeycomb-shaped silos in total measuring 61 m in length, 22 m in width and 83 m in height were erected in the port of Brake, Germany, by a WT 200 e.tronic and a WT 300 e.tronic using the slip-form method.
Alpha Rotex in Gateway Gardens, Frankfurt
At 66 m and 16 storeys, Alpha Rotex is the tallest building right at the airport. A WT 300 e.tronic, a WT 200 e.tronic and a WT 180 were involved. A height limit had to be observed due to the building’s proximity to the airport.
